Iain S Varley

Iain provides surgical support for our implant practice.

He is a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, specialising in the treatment of head and neck cancer and facial reconstruction.

He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sheffield, and has degrees in Medical Sciences (Nottingham, 2000), Medicine & Surgery (Nottingham, 2002) and Dentistry (Sheffield, 2011). He has recently completed a Masters in Clinical Research (Sheffield, 2017)

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and has represented his specialty at the highest levels, as Members' representative on the council of the British Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (BAOMS).

He has published widely on all aspects of facial surgery, and presented at many National and International surgical conferences, having twice won the BAOMS Research Poster Prize. He reviews papers for several clinical journals, and teaches and examines undergraduate students in medicine and dentistry during their courses.

Outside of surgical practice he enjoys spending time with his family, his expanding collection of guitars, and on his motorbike.
